Soul Sickness is a term used to describe a demoralised person, someone who feels helplessness, hopeless and incompetent.
The song was written to raise awareness of the sexual exploitation of women. It is a sad story of a woman who has been taken of advantage of in different ways throughout her young life, from both strangers and those closest to her to the point where she now finds herself Soul Sick, desperate and in need of help.
